GDPR and the Impact on HR Process and Employee Records

WORKSHOP ON GDPR AND THE IMPACT ON HR PROCESS AND EMPLOYEE RECORDS

In May 2018, we will be subject to a new EU law on Data Protection – the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which applies directly to businesses in the UK.

 

The clock is ticking for HR professionals to prepare for this major overhaul to the current Data Protection regime.  Moving from the existing Data Protection Act (DPA) to the GDPR will be a significant challenge for business and HR professionals to get to grips with.  The new law introduces high level responsibilities in respect of transparency, accountability and demonstrable compliance/record keeping.  Subject access rights will be enhanced and the timescale for administering requests reduced.

 

The GDPR countdown is underway and there is much work to be done by HR before the deadline.  To help HR plan and prepare for the introduction of the GDPR, EEF NI will be delivering another one day seminar on Thursday, 15 March 2018.

  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of how current Data Protection obligations will change and what this will mean for HR processes and the management of employee information;
  • Receive guidance on how to prepare a compliance plan and audit to ensure that HR is ready to meet its obligations under the GDPR by May 2018;
  • Be updated on the latest information and guidance on implementing the GDPR from the Government and Information Commissioner.
