2020 has certainly been a challenging year for everyone and EEF NI has been no exception.  Despite this we have continued to offer the same excellent level of support and found new innovative ways of delivering our service and information to all our members.

The Annual Employment Law & HR Conference 2020 went ahead in a new online format and we were delighted to welcome so many of our members back this year, together with a large number of new faces.

The Conference is an opportunity to provide attendees with valuable information on a variety of current and upcoming topics relevant to the business needs of our Members, and this year was no exception.

Day 1 of the event began with a reflection on the year to date; a review of key case law and legislative and other developments of interest throughout the year, including the introduction and implementation of Early Conciliation.

Of course, Covid-19 was a hot topic and we discussed the response of the Employment Tribunal to this challenging situation together with the impact of Covid-19 on current and prospective Tribunal claims.

Day 2 of the Conference covered the current topics of EU business travel and Brexit together with the Good Work Plan, IR 35, Gender Pay and an update on awaited Supreme Court cases; we also explored where we are with GDPR.  Our session finished with a discussion on workplace inclusion in a Covid world, a very beneficial and apt topic in this current situation.

We were delighted to have been able to hold our Conference this year and look forward to welcoming you all again in 2021.
